The Children's Community is a liberation-centered Self-Directed Education community situated on a farm surrounded by a forest. We practice consent, cultivate confident autonomy, and center connection in community. We're located in the greater St. Louis, Missouri area and are proud to be the first Agile Learning Center in the region.

Our commitment to youth liberation is inextricably bound to our commitment to collective liberation. Liberatory practice is at the heart of our culture and is reflected in our practice with young people, the land, and the broader communities with which we engage. As our friends at the Alliance or Self-Directed Education remind us: As young people take back their...freedom of self-direction, a commitment emerges not just to the abolition of coercive educational practices, but of all systems and ways of being that seek to demean, diminish, and oppress people.
